The Life Giving Spirit by Deborah Cain

THE LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT

Spring has finally arrived and we see the greening of the world around us taking place. Life emerges from out of nowhere it seems. We see a life giving force at work however, and we know that something greater than ourselves exists. The life giving Spirit of God has planted His own garden in the trees, flowers and shrubs. Seedtime and harvest is the law of God that we all enjoy. God has also planted his garden in the hearts of people worldwide. Seeds of life, planted by the Spirit of God. They are seeds of hope, joy, love and peace and so much more. These attributes are the fruit of Gods’ Spirit.

How does a person receive the Spirit of God and thereby enjoy the fruit of that same Spirit in his or her life? Simply by asking the LIFE GIVING SPIRIT to come into and take residence in their heart. The Scriptures tell us `the first man Adam, became a living person.’’ But the last Adam-that is the Christ-is a life-giving Spirit…Adam the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. 1Corinthians15: 45,46. That Spirit is the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the man from heaven for he came and dwelt in flesh like ours, but His Father is God. He died a death we cannot even fathom the cruelty of, and yet defeated that same death, because his life emerged again, raising him from the dead. This man, Gods’ own seed is eternal and so the life he brings to us is eternal, producing the fruit of His life within us, and giving us eternal life also.

Do you, dear reader, need joy, peace, kindness, and love? Do you lack hope? Do you need a constant friend? Do you want to have eternal life? I encourage you to receive the LIFE GIVING SPIRIT, the LIFE GIVER, the LORD JESUS CHRIST in to your heart, into the center of your being. Let His Life produce in your living. Let Him sow his Spirit in the soil of your heart. He sowed his own flesh so the result of sin cannot produce death to those who receive Him. Ask him to forgive your sin and invite him to take up residence in you forever, to plant his beautiful garden in you, and enjoy the fruit of His Spirit in your life. Happy Growing!

2008 and the clock is ticking!

It is March and the excitement is building. The hearts of the saints are already churning with the Holy Spirit, being motivated with desires and ideas on how to reach the lost and uncommited.

We will have our two annual 'WORSHIP WITH THE ARTS' at the city park. Those dates are yet to be determined but will again be in the spring and fall. There has been some talk of taking the 'ARTS' to other towns.

We are giving strong consideration to reviving the neighborhood street partys. I enjoy those the most. It provides better opportunities for inter-action with the people.

Winds of Change will be having some organizational meetings to discuss these and other ways of fullfilling the desire of our Lord and Brother Jesus to 'make diciples'.

Until then, remember that you can be a revival where ever you are! Check back from time to time for the events schedule and for results and testimonies.
